Ming-Seng Kao (S'89 - M'90) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1959. He received the B.S.E.E degree from the National Taiwan University, in 1982, the M.S. degree in optoelectronics from the National Chiao-Tung University, in 1986, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the National Taiwan University, in 1990.From 1986 to 1987 he was an Assistant Researcher at the Telecommunications Laboratories, Chung-Li, Taiwan. In 1990, he joined the faculty of National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, where he is now a Professor of Communication Engineering Department. Between 1993 - 1994, he was a visiting professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland, where he worked in the area of optical communications. He is currently interested in high-speed optical networks. |
